Common questions

Straight answers to what owners ask before a first conversation.

Do I keep my existing bookkeeper?
Yes. Helm works alongside your bookkeeper or in-house team rather than replacing them. We focus on the CFO level work: management accounts, forecasting, and the decisions the numbers point to. Where useful, we help your bookkeeper tighten the underlying records.
Will this conflict with my auditor?
No. Helm prepares audit ready files and liaises with your appointed external auditor. Helm does not perform the statutory audit, so the auditor's independence is preserved.
How is my financial data kept secure?
Your information is treated as strictly confidential and used only to deliver your engagement. Access is limited to those who need it, and we are happy to work within your own systems and access controls. See our privacy policy for how enquiry details are handled.
How does the contract and exit work?
Engagements run on a simple monthly arrangement with no long lock in. Either side can end it with [notice period to confirm], and on exit your records and working files are handed back to you. Full terms are set out in the engagement letter before any work begins.
